Portals book, card deck, and online exhibit intend to explore the intersection of landscape and self. Why explore the intersection of landscape and self? Do the self and landscape intersect?

I would argue that each of us intersects with the land, knowingly or not, when we take a bite of food or a sip of water. To become aware of the landscape we inhabit, and how that landscape impacts our day-to-day existence, is to embark on a journey of discovery. It is my hope that wherever you reside you will become more attuned to the landscape that surrounds you. You may find yourself in relationship with the birdsong, rainfall, sunlight, moonlight, waters and earth, buildings and creatures in your landscape as you move through this book, card deck, or online exhibit.
